What is it?
A straight-sided catheter with two drainage eyes, designed especially for patients with a continent ileostomy (Ileostomy reservoir or Kock's Pouch).

Catheter design
The transparent PVC material used for the Medena Ileostomy catheter is pliable lengthwise and sufficiently flexible crosswise, facilitating insertion into the stoma. The use of PVC also makes it possible to produce a catheter with a large lumen in relation to its external diameter.
The open tip of the catheter is rounded to reduce the risk of trauma.
Adjustable length for ease of use
Each pack of 5 catheters contains a coupling piece that can be used to vary the catheter's length.
If the catheter is to be used again, it should be cleaned under running water and stored in the plastic pack provided. Disconnecting the coupling piece makes the catheter easier to store between catheterisations.
Lubrication
The catheter can be lubricated with water or a lubricating jelly before use.

The Medena Ileostomy Catheter can be used to empty a continent ileostomy/Kock Pouch occasionally and intermittently in hospital or at home.
