Types
The wide range of sizes and types available in the LoFric range makes it easy to meet the needs of every patient. LoFric catheters are available in 40 cm lengths for men, 15 and 20 cm lengths for women, and 20 and 30 cm lengths for children.
Tips
LoFric tips have been carefully designed to ensure that the catheter does not perforate or damage the urethra. The nelaton (straight) catheter is designed for men, women and children and the Tiemann catheter (with a slightly curved, tapered tip) is designed for men with a narrow urethra, prostate problems or false urethral passages.
Sizes
The LoFric range of sizes is the most extensive available, ranging from CH 06 to CH 24. (male CH 08–24; female CH 08–18; paediatric CH 06–10). The Charrière (or CH) number is the diameter of the catheter in units of 1/3 millimetre. Different sizes are distinguished by the colour of the connector.
This means that there is an appropriate catheter choice for users of all ages.
